Like many other cities and counties across Ireland, the hospitality sector in Galway has very much been impacted by Covid-19. Named the European Capital of Culture in 2020, Galway – the Gateway City for the West of Ireland, has become a multi-cultural and vibrant place to live, work, visit, and invest.
It comes as positive news that several streets in Galway are set to undergo a transformation to facilitate an outdoor dining trial this summer. Extra space will be created by increasing the width of footpaths and removing parking spaces, facilitating space for family friendly picnic areas and for additional outdoor dining.
This plan will play a significant role in stimulating job creation and social inclusion, whilst recovering the tourism and retail sector by bringing life back to the streets of Galway.
