Falling in line with the designation of Galway as European Region of Gastronomy for 2018, the TOBIN-led BIA Innovator Campus was approved to be delivered in Athenry, Co. Galway. TOBIN Consulting Engineers are working closely with Bia Innovator Campus CLG Board in order to deliver the highest quality of service in architectural and engineering design services, with an emphasis on health and safety.

The scope of works for the Works Contractor includes the construction of 3 buildings set within an overall research and educational food complex and also includes for the construction of external car parking, access roads, site fencing, services & utilities, landscaping and all other associated site works. Three units will be built on the greenfield site on the Teagasc Mellows Campus in Athenry, Co. Galway. Building 1 comprises of food labs and office space including a reception area, showcase room, demonstration auditorium, “hot desk” office areas, culinary training centre, meeting room, offices, toilets and other ancillary areas. This building will also include a H.P.S.U. (High Potential Start Up) and Growth Incubation units which includes 4 no. single storey coworking food laboratories for food innovation and product development.

The two other buildings consist of incubation units for start-up companies which will be constructed as food production areas, food stores, chill areas, changing facilities and all other ancillary areas.
