TOBIN Consulting Engineers were appointed to carry out an assessment of flood risk to the proposed Mothel Solar Farm in Curraghduff, County Waterford. The proposed development (the subject of this flood risk assessment report) will involve the construction of solar panels, a battery storage facility, substation, access roads and associated ancillary services.

The proposed development is divided across two parcels of land with a combined area of approximately 52 hectares. The sites are in the townland of Curraghduff, northwest of Mothel, and in Mothel itself in County Waterford. The Abbey Bishop Stream and Joanstown Stream are in the vicinity of the sites, with the Abbey Bishop stream passing adjacent to the southern boundary of the north western landholding.

The aim of this Flood Risk Assessment is to “provide a quantitative appraisal of potential flood risk” [extract from PSFRM Guidelines] in relation to the proposed development.
