In our role as Lead Consultant for the various elements of these works, TOBIN acted as the single point of contact for the client throughout all stages of the Contract. This consisted of providing SAA with the full design for the works, PSDS services, QS Services, and overall Project Management for the Employer Designed Minor Public Works Contract from appointment by the SAA at feasibility stage through to the current defects liability period.

These services consisted of Feasibility Studies, Full Design, Cost Advice, Procurement and Tendering, Tender Evaluation & Award, Construction Administration, Client’s Representative, Handover & currently managing the Defects Period. Quantity Surveying Services consisted of Cost Planning, Cost Control, Preparation of Tender Documents including BoQs, Tender Evaluations and Contract Administration.

The works were completed in a live 24 hour operational airport under working restrictions such as pull backs, shortened runways, and night time operations. These consisted of the excavation of the existing turnpad which included excessive volumes of rock and reconstruction of the turnpad with large volumes of asphalt concrete among other sub-base materials, and of the design and installation of all complex AGL Lighting.
