Damien DohertySenior Hydrogeologist - Environment & Planning

    Damien holds the position of Senior Hydrogeologist with TOBIN’s Environment and Planning section. Damien graduated with an MSc in Hydrogeology from Newcastle University in 2019. He has been working professionally in hydrogeology since 2015 and has extensive national field experience in various aspects of soil logging, karst hydrogeological tracing and hydrogeological assessment. Damien is a professional member of the Institute of Geologists of Ireland and a member of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (Irish Group).

    Since joining TOBIN in 2017, Damien has contributed to a variety of projects including the conceptualization and delineation of sand and gravel aquifers, he has conducted and reported on karst groundwater tracing events, assessed the resource potential of groundwater on a regional scale, and worked on a groundwater monitoring and modelling project which investigated the impact of climate change on groundwater in Ireland. Damien is currently working on a groundwater resource project identifying, pump testing and developing new groundwater resources for public water supply schemes.

    Outside the office, Damien enjoys cycling, hiking and all things sport
