John graduated with a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Queens University Belfast in 2015. He worked as a Graduate Civil Engineer in Manchester for two years before moving to Melbourne in 2017 where he joined a consultancy as a Structural Engineer.  He has experience in the inspection and assessment of various structures as well as design experience of reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry.  John returned to Ireland in 2021 and has recently joined the Building & Infrastructure team as a Structural Design Engineer.

In TOBIN, his role involves using various software packages to model and design structures in accordance with the relevant design standards and building regulations.

In his spare time, John likes hiking, sea swimming, and travel.
