Laura joined TOBIN in 2012, having obtained a master’s of science in Environmental Engineering and an honours degree in Civil Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast. She is a Chartered Engineer and holds the position of Senior Design Engineer in the Roads and Transportation division in the Galway office. More recently, her career has focused on road design and traffic and transportation. However, she has a diverse background in general civil engineering and planning.
Laura is particularly experienced in traffic and transportation engineering including Traffic and Transporation Assessments, EIAR Traffic Chapters, Turbine Delivery Route Assessments, Workplace and Mobility Management Plans for various civil and environmental engineering projects on residential, commercial, healthcare, renewable energy and amenity projects. She is well experienced in the planning, detailed design, tender preparation, evaluation, award and delivery of all roads and transportation elements of civil engineering projects while working as part of multidisciplinary teams.
Laura is a TII approved Road Safety Auditor Team Member and has also reverted to the RSA from the designers perspective. She is experienced in junction designs and layouts to DMURS and TII Standards. On TII schemes she has completed the drainage design, pavement design, safety barrier design and also designed and sought approval through TII for sign designs for national road design. She is qualified in Temporary Traffic Management Design (Level 1 & 2).
When not busy at her desk, Laura can be seen to be training for touch rugby and supporting her local Connaught Rugby at both home and away games.
