Siobhán TinnellyOperations Director - Environment & Planning

    Siobhán joined the Environment and Planning (E&P) division of TOBIN Consulting Engineers in 2004, having previously worked in the Exploration and Mining Division (EMD) of the (then) Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources.

    Siobhán holds an Honours Degree in Natural Sciences and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Engineering, both from Trinity College Dublin. She has completed a Master’s Degree in Applied Hydrogeology from Newcastle University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management with the Irish Management Institute (IMI). Siobhán was awarded the title of Professional Geologist (P. Geo) from the Institute of Geologists of Ireland (IGI).

    As Operations Director of the E&P division, Siobhán is responsible for the management and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary teams consisting of experienced scientists and engineers who provide environmental and planning expertise for the successful delivery of large-scale infrastructural projects including energy transmission projects, wind energy and solar farms, residential and commercial developments, waste management facilities, mines and quarries. In addition to her significant experience in the management of planning applications, feasibility studies, planning and environmental considerations reports and environmental impact assessment reports (EIARs), Siobhán also provides hydrogeology and geological expertise for such projects and co-ordinates and participates in public consultations events.

    A current council member, and former President (2014-2016), of the Irish Mining and Quarrying Society (IMQS), Siobhán is also Chairperson of the IMQS Annual Review editorial committee. She is an active member of industry associations including Geoscience Ireland, the IGI and the International Association of Hydrogeologists (Irish Group), (IAH). Siobhán takes her mind off work through a combination of outdoor pursuits that usually involve visits to the Phoenix Park in Dublin or Dun na Rí forest park in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan. She regularly participates in regional and national running competitions including 10km and half marathon race days.
